Trip to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art

Yesterday I got to take a day off school and make a visit to the Oklahoma City Musuem of Art (OKC
MOA) to have colleges look at my portfolio and the portfolios of my peers.
I was told to dress nicely - since I am presenting myself to colleges - but I also had to consider I'd be riding a school bus and walking around downtown, so I wasn't exactly in the mood to wear heels and a blazer.
When I am told to look "business", I go for solid colors. That way, the "statement piece" can be smaller things that people may or may not notice - for me it was my studded shoes and sequin pockets.

My friend admiring a Paul Jenkins painting. Our guide called it "boring" but I disagree entirely - it was my favorite painting in the whole exhibit. Oh well, it seemed as though she had no idea what she was talking about half the time anyway...

This is a shot I took while trying to find a place to eat. We ended up rushing inside a family-ran hot dog restaurant. They were cheap, friendly, and fast, which was perfect for us because we only had 20 minutes to eat due to rooming the streets for too long.

I love photographs of people in art galleries, so I snapped this of my friend while she was taking her own photo.

These last three pictures are all of Dave Chihuly's glass blown art. The photographs don't give the 3-D sculptures justice - they are so beautiful in person.

I forgot how much I love observing art. Use this weekend to stop by your own city's art museum, or even local art galleries.
